Ephesians 2:8 and 9- the meaning of Christianity

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no man can boast.

-----
We cannot earn our way to heaven. It has nothing to do with us, and what we are capable of on our own.

God has given us grace from our sins as a gift.
If we accept this gift, then we will be with Him someday.

We are unable to get to heaven by doing good works only.

Faith without works is dead, and also works without faith are dead.

If we do not have faith but do good deeds, they mean nothing.
If we have faith, but do nothing with our lives, our faith is dead.

The two must go together, they must match, and they must be in alignment with each other.

Accepting His grace as a gift because He loves us, acknowledging our sings, and living according to the gifts He has given us to use, in His name.

This is the meaning of Christianity.
