Colossians 3

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God,
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly thing.
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God,
When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

(Wait.. Christ.. who is your life..
For you died..
When we live in Christ, we die to self.)

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.

(Because of the sin of human nature: this is why God is returning. Earth was not created to have sin in it. Earth was created to be a beautiful perfect place, where He could create whatever He wanted to create, because seeing things come to life that He envisioned was and is pleasurable for Him. He loves everything He makes.)

You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.
But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
Do not lie to each other, since you have take off your old self with its practices
and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

(When we are a new creation - when we have accepted His love and grace and decided to follow Him - we must learn to walk in purity. We need to learn that the things that make this world evil are not to be part of who we are. We, as Christ followers, are to strive to be as Christ-like as possible.)

Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

(When we decide to follow the path of Christ, we are no longer separate, but we are equal. This is true equality.. everything we've all been fighting for. To be the same as the other.. this puts feminism and the MGTOW movement to shame.)

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Bear with each other and forgive on another is any of you have some grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

(We are called to be one family in love and peace. We were meant to be in community and communion with each other. It's a perfect plan. Unity in love.)

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all the wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

(We are to help each other learn and grow, and to hold each other accountable when we stumble. We are MEANT TO JUDGE EACH OTHER IN LOVE IN THE LAW OF CHRIST. What?! We are supposed to judge each other? Yes, from believer to believer, we are to keep each other accountable, and to praise and lift each other up when we do things that are pleasing and life giving.)

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
Children obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

(Do you see the perfection of these relationships together? How, when a wife is loved, she WILLINGLY submits to her husband, and when a husband is shown this respect, he in turn loves her more. And in seeing this relationship between the marriage, children obey their parents, and this makes for a beautiful description of the pleasure the Lord wants from his creation.)

Father, do not embitter your children, for they will become discouraged.

(This doesn't just go for the dads, but because the father is the head of the house, this points straight to them to show how any parent should act towards their kids.)

Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on your and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,
since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the lord Christ you are serving.
Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.

(We are all servants.. we are all slaves.. and when we serve the people in charge of us with malice and contempt, we are seen as wicked. Which hello, that's what we're being. We're being selfish and arrogant and stupid, and we should be treated as such. But when we serve with kindness and respect and joyfulness, we are given more. We are loved on, we reap hope and value and pleasure. This is the fairness of God.)
