because we are practicing blocking out the visuals of things around us that can distract us from that connection.
why do we open our hands?
because this is a subconscious sign of surrender and "i'm open and ready".
we are allowing ourselves to be changed by something
we are looking to have a supernatural conviction and for good things to happen
