notes from Mother’s Day service 5/10/2020 Crossroads

Keisha Maybee "this too shall pass"

That saying is supposed to make us feel better.
To remind ourselves that what we're going through is temporary.

But remembering that we're supposed to be HERE.

Mindfulness is simply paying attention to the present moment on purpose.

We are always looking forward to where we need to be next or looking back to see where we've come from, instead of being here now.

Mary - Jesus mom.
Luke 2:15-19

while they were traveling for the census, she was 9 months pregnant. she was exhausted and in pain in a chaotic world.

But when people came to see her son, she treasured all of these things in her heart.
She treasured them.. she carefully kept these moments in her heart and pondered them.

Time may feel like it's blind together and dragging on.
But remembering that this time is a gift is important, no matter how cheesy.

Is the feeling that I'm feeling related to the moment that I'm in right now?

We can't let the "what if" steal from the "right now".

What are you grateful for right now?
