the tower of Babel

The tower was built as an act of disobedience to God. (read the above link to learn some amazing things about this historical event!)

What happened at the tower of Babel is why we have multiple languages in the world today.

We cannot build anything manmade that will reach to heaven.
Heaven is not a physical place.

We have to believe in God's son and what He did for us in order to be there when our physical bodies pass away.

And nobody is any better than anyone else.
Man cannot boast about being better than another, we are all on an equal level.

- also, fun fact - this is why we call it "babbeling" when someone talks nonsense.-
  • verb (used without object), bab·bled, bab·bling. to utter sounds or words imperfectly, indistinctly, or without meaning. to talk idly, irrationally, excessively, or foolishly; chatter or prattle. to make a continuous, murmuring sound.
