Performance

We live in a world that rewards good performance.
If we don't do it right, there's no recognition.
If we do it right, we are rewarded in some way shape or form. But it's short lived.
It's a pass/fail society.

This can make us think God is the same way, since there's so much emphasis on works in religion.
It can be hard to think that God doesn't care about our performance, as long as we follow his path for our life.
Bible verses that are taken out of context and waved in our face "faith without works is dead".
Now look at this.

We start a relationship with God because we have faith that His is real, that the history of his son Jesus is real, that the death and resurrection really happened, and that God really does forgive and forget when we repent.

The only "action" there is prayer.
Repenting and believing.
We don't have to do things for God to love us.
He already does.
We don't have to perform for him. He isn't impressed by our so called "good works", because there is not even one of us as humans that is good and pure. We are sinful. So anything we do will have sin attached to it. Unless we do it because of our love for Him.

(not to mention, when we don't follow the plan, and also have things what happen to us in our past from other people effecting us, it can also cause trauma experiences. below is a blip about how that feels and what effect it has.)

trauma
always having to perform
God doesn't need that from me
my father figure was unintentional about trauma
he came from a place where he had the same pressure
break the cycle
I don't need that anymore
I don't have to perform
