God’s Love and Ours
7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

Because God loves the way He does, He wants us to be in a love relationship with Him. This is why it's a relationship, not a religion. Because God as the Son came to earth in Human form so He could be the perfect sacrifice. Old Testament law requires a perfect sinful blameless sacrifice, and in order for that to be covered ETERNALLY, and perfect blameless offering had to be made. Jesus was the only way. And since the death on the cross and resurrection, belief in Jesus has been and IS the only way to connect with and be part of God's family for eternity. He is an entity, a spirit, therefore it's not about works in order for a physical face to see what we've done, but it's about the love connection of a Creator for whom He has created.
