What are the different types of Bibles?

There is only one Bible has been translated into over 2000 languages. Currently, there are more than 40 different versions in English, from the King James Version, which was published in 1611 and is still going strong, to modern versions, some of them in very simplified English.

Here are the names of the main religious texts for the world's largest religions:
  • Bible - Christianity. (Jesus is the Son of the Trinity of God, lived a perfect life, died on a cross and physically rose again, and ascended back to heaven.)
  • Qur'an - Islam. (There is no Jesus, Predestination, There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God)
  • Gita - Hinduism. (Brahma is the first god in the Hindu triumvirate, or trimurti. The triumvirate consists of three gods who are responsible for the creation, upkeep and destruction of the world. The other two gods are Vishnu and Shiva. Vishnu is the preserver of the universe, while Shiva's role is to destroy it in order to re-create.)
  • Torah - Judaism. (Jews do not believe that Jesus was divine or the "son of God," or the Messiah prophesied in Jewish scripture. He is seen as a "false messiah," meaning someone who claimed (or whose followers claimed for him) the mantle of the Messiah but who ultimately did not meet the requirements. Monotheistic God.)
  • Guru Granth Sahib - Sikhism. (Sikhs do not believe that Jesus is God because Sikhism teaches that God is neither born, nor dead. Jesus was born and lived a human life, therefore, he cannot be God. However, Sikhs still show respect to all beliefs. Sikhs believes in one omnipresent, formless God. Sikhs commonly call God, Waheguru (Wa-HEY-guru).)
  • Tripitaka - Buddhism. (In the remote Himalayan land of Kashmir, Jesus (known then as "Issa") lived to a ripe old age as a Buddhist monk, according to Mr. Kersten. Buddha (Siddhārtha Gautama) insisted he was human and that there is no almighty, benevolent God.)
  • Authorised King James Version of the Bible, and the Book of Mormon - Mormon/LDS (Mormons believe in God the Father, the Son (Christ), and the Holy Ghost existing as three separate individual beings. also believe that Jesus Christ is the essential path for salvation. Avoid the cross and focus on his life. Mormons believe in the crucifixion, resurrection and divinity of Jesus Christ. Followers claim that God sent more prophets after Jesus's death.)
